The Pledge of Allegiance is recited by the Board of Trustees and the audience at the beginning of each Village Board Meeting. As an additional opportunity for citizen engagement, the Village Board is inviting local service organizations to participate in the leading of the Pledge of Allegiance at designated meetings.
Lead the Pledge
Community groups comprised of children that are in 8th grade or younger, as well as recently returning veterans and Eagle Scouts, may submit an application to lead the Pledge of Allegiance (PDF) at an upcoming Village Board Meeting. Requests to lead the pledge must be submitted by an adult on behalf of the student group which is affiliated with a school, YMCA program (Indian Guides / Princesses), Scouts, Athletic Teams and registered community-based organizations.
Rules
No banners or signs with messages or statements are allowed, only those describing the organization and their logo. Requests to lead the pledge will be considered in the order that they are received.
Meetings
Village Board Meetings are scheduled for the second and fourth Mondays of each month beginning at 7:30 pm Meeting dates are subject to change due to holidays or other circumstances. The program will begin with the October 28, 2013, Village Board meeting.
