The Village’s contract for single and two-family residential refuse collection, recycling collection and disposal services expired on July 31, 2020. Effective August 3, 2020, the Village’s new refuse hauler is Flood Brothers Disposal.
The Village has been made aware that some residents with the sticker program may have received a bill from Flood Brothers for a three month period in error. Residents who have received an invoice in error can log on to the Flood Brothers website at floodbrothersdisposal.com and select "Pay Online". That portal will allow residents to input the account information and access code provided in the invoice. Once in the portal, the resident will be able to verify that the balance is $0.
Alternatively, residents can reach out to Flood Brothers by phone at 630-261-0400 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org to verify that the invoice was issued in error. If a payment was made on the bill in error, a refund will be issued to the resident.
The new service contract will still allow residents to continue to choose the sticker program or to contract for a monthly two-wheeled cart subscription service, both at lower than current rates. Residents choosing the two-wheeled cart program for refuse and recycling will have expanded options available. The options include a 35-gallon (senior), 65 gallon or 95 gallon receptacle for refuse and a 65 gallon or 95 gallon receptacle for recycling. Residents choosing the sticker program can also contract for a 35 gallon or 65 gallon recycling receptacle. Through the new program, residents choosing two-wheeled carts will receive all new refuse and recycling receptacles. At the end of July, Republic and Flood Brothers coordinated the two-wheeled cart transition process with residents selecting that option.
No automatic payment information will be transferred from Republic Services and therefore, residents are required to enroll with Flood Brothers for automatic payment accounts.
Residents have received a letter from Flood Brothers and the Village with additional information and an invitation to begin the process of setting up an account. Residents choosing to remain on the sticker program and use the Village issued 18 gallon open bin, are asked to please check that box on the form (or use another form of communication with Flood Brothers) so that they can maintain their records.
The new refuse program will also give residents the option to subscribe to a landscape waste two-wheeled cart with composting. Several optional curbside recycling and disposal programs at an additional fee are also available including electronics recycling and household hazardous waste disposal.
Flood Brothers has advised that the on-line system to create a profile is fully available. Residents can also call or email Flood’s Customer Service Department at (630) 261-0400 or email@example.com to receive an access code for online sign up. Residents can also sign up by contacting Customer Service by phone, e-mail, or by returning the form included in the letter.

Residents who have selected a two-wheeled cart option received their requested two-wheeled carts for refuse, recycling and landscape waste during the last few weeks of July. Republic Services was scheduled to remove current two-wheeled carts after your last scheduled service day, Monday July 27 or Thursday July 30. The two-wheeled cart removal process took multiple days. If your Republic Services cart has not been collected, please contact their Customer Service Department at 708-345-7050.
Please note that some residents with autopay through Republic Services may have received a bill that extends beyond the July 31 end date of the contract in error. Residents on auto-pay should have received a phone call from Republic to disregard any bills or notices of late fees issued in error. No late fees will be assessed and replacement bills will be issued to cover the service period ending July 31. For residents that receive a paper bill or received late fees or a call in error, please disregard the bill. A new statement was issued to reflect payment due only until the end of July when service with Republic ends.
